COVID Participant Guidelines

As of October 2020

As a participant in our social sporting competitions, you must adhere to the COVID-19 health and safety
guidelines outlined below to ensure our competitions are as safe as possible.


  • Keep up to date with the latest COVID-19 QLD Government restrictions.
  • Download the COVIDSafe app to help with contact tracing.


  • Register your attendance at the venue before your game.
  • Stay home if you are unwell or have flu-like symptoms including high temperature, cough, runnynose, sore throat or have been in contact with someone who has.
  • Take extra precautions such as wearing a mask if you have any pre-existing medical conditions that place you at risk.


  • Wash your hands with hand wash or sanitiser before and after playing,
  • Cover your mouth with your elbow if you need to cough or sneeze.
  • Do not spit or clear your nasal passage.
  • Avoid touching your face with your hands.
  • Do not share personal items such as your water bottle or towel.
  • Limit the exchanging of bibs within your team.
  • Dispose of any tissues in the appropriate rubbish bin.
  • Carry your own hand sanitiser if you catch public transport.
  • Limit the use of change rooms and communal areas where possible.
  • Shower at home after your game.

Physical Distancing

  • Avoid mingling with other teams before or after your game.
  • Maintain a 1.5m distance from other participants while standing on the sideline.
  • Do not shake hands, high five or hug another participant.
  • Do not bring spectators to watch your game.

Arrival & Departure

  • Use specific venue entry/exit points as outlined by the QUT Guild.
  • Arrive just before your game (5-10 mins) and leave immediately after your game.
  • Do not linger around the venue to chat with your teammates.


  • Report any participant who is showing flu-like symptoms to the Convenor immediately.
  • Report any participant or team that is not complying with COVID-19 participant guidelines to the Convenor on the night or the Sports Coordinator.
