You should never have to go hungry. In Australia, roughly 1 in 5 students regularly go without food which we find heartbreaking. QUT Guild's Foodbank is open to all QUT students to help you get through till your next payday.
QUT Guild buys some food as well as receiving donations to keep it as stocked up as it can be. We offer non-perishable items including pasta, rice and cans of vegetables as well as personal hygiene items
You do not have to be assessed to access the foodbank, however if we do see you regularly using the foodbank, we may offer other financial assistance. Although the foodbank is there to support you when you may be at your lowest, it shouldn't be relied on as a long term solution.
APPLY for a coles or woolies food voucher
Due to the recent COVID-19 lockdowns in Brisbane, we are giving out food vouchers in place of the QUT Guild Foodbank for the time being. Apply for a $50 food voucher via this link: https://form.jotform.com/eventsqutguild/foodbank-voucher-request-form
How to access the Foodbank?
To access this service, we recommend to book an appointment with our Advocacy Officers via the following details:
Kelvin Grove Campus
Or you pop over to our office during our Monday to Friday opening hours with your QUT student ID card and we can try our best to help you out.
To help our foodbank run succesfully, we rely on donations so that we don't have to turn any student away. We accept food donations as long as they are long life items with an expiry date of at least 3 months or more. Food donations must be new, unused and not damaged. If you would like to make a donation, please email our team at firstname.lastname@example.org to see how.
If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, please contact us through our form here and staff member will be in contact with you. We appreciate any help that we can get from Foodbank donations. Every little bit counts!
