NORWEGIAN STUDENT ORGANISATION – NorSK
NorSK Student Organisation is a club run by and for students in Brisbane. NorSK have a long history, going all the way back to April 14th in the year of 2000. The club is affiliated with the QUT Student Guild, but is open for everyone, even if you’re not a student.
Since the start up in 2000 NorSK have won multiple awards from the student Guild, including awards as “Club of the Year”, “International Club of the Year”, “Most active international student club”, “Best poster”, “Best T-shirt” and “Event of the Year”. In 2012 NorSK “Club of the Year” in competition with over 100 other student clubs, and in 2013 and 2014 the award for “International Club of the Year” went to the club.
In the beginning, NorSK was a club for Norwegian students only, but now we have members from everywhere, both domestic students, international students and exchange students. The last years we’ve had around 500-600 members each semester, from 50-60 different countries.
Each semester NorSK runs a number of events, including:
Brisbane’s biggest pubcrawl (Thursday, week 2 every semester)
Halloween party at a haunted castle
End of Semester Offline Facebook Party
Norwegian Constitution Day (the largest celebration on the Southern Hemisphere)
